At Action Property Management, it’s the Community Managers who represent the face of the company to board members and residents. These same managers also recognize that there’s much more to that image than just their presence alone. There’s a whole team of people who work behind the scenes to make it all come together in a seamless fashion.
When Andrew Burdick joined the Action team three years ago, he was one of those behind-the-scenes workers who made the front line look good. The mailroom at Action is much more than just a post office. Known as CPS or Corporate Production Services, this team also supplies Community Managers with all the reports and documentation they need to do their jobs.
Andrew made his debut at CPS just three weeks after earning a degree in Marketing from Biola University. This was at a time when Action’s interactive management tool, SnapHOA, was first rolling out. It didn’t take long for Andrew to earn a reputation as a quick learner and he jumped right into the job, helping to get SnapHOA into the hands of managers and out into the communities.
Within five months, Andrew had made a name for himself and was quickly recruited as a Manager Assistant Specialist. In his new job he continued with the SnapHOA rollout, working much closer to the front lines, one step closer to the managers who would use it. He stayed in that position for about a year before transitioning to Associate Manager and overseeing his first community.
As he worked his way up the ranks, Andrew continued to shine. At one point, he had the opportunity to work with the Mission Viejo Environmental Association. This community with over 2,700 homes was receiving up to 50 architectural applications every two weeks and was in desperate need of better systems to manage the volume. With the need identified, Andrew stepped up and implemented a Dropbox system and templates that streamlined the processes. With these changes in effect, the board was able to better meet the needs of the community without exhausting themselves in the process.

”While Andrew recognizes that it takes time to implement change, an aptitude for learning and a strong work ethic have propelled him forward at a much quicker pace than even he anticipated. The mailroom was his start and a world of possibilities is waiting to guide him toward the finish.
Since joining the Action team in 2022, Andrew has already been promoted three times. Today he is a Community Manager with a portfolio of six accounts in Orange County.
As an avid golfer, Andrew credits the sport with teaching him about diligence and patience. When playing golf, every day is different depending on the course and the environment. The same is true when working with HOAs. New problems come up on a daily basis and new solutions are always needed. Andrew is grateful to work for a company like Action that has equipped him with the tools he needs to make decisions and solve problems as they come up.
He also credits some of his dad’s wisdom with propelling him forward. Short one-liners like “Do complete work” stick with him. His dad also instilled in him the concept of the “Honor Check,” where he asks himself at the completion of a task if he did it the right way.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys the outdoors. He has set a goal of visiting in every national park in California. He has already backpacked through several of them, including Sequoia, King’s Canyon, and Yosemite. Though he did some of those trips solo, he will be joining a group of friends for the next trip to the Channel Islands this year.
While Andrew recognizes that it takes time to implement change, an aptitude for learning and a strong work ethic have propelled him forward at a much quicker pace than even he anticipated. The mailroom was his start and a world of possibilities is waiting to guide him toward the finish. With a commitment to quality work, Andrew is sure to enjoy the ride.
