When common things appear uncommon, frustration is often the result. Action Property Management’s new online feature, The Uncommon Area, was launched in June of 2022 with the purpose of creating a place where the uncommon aspects of HOA living become commonly known.

With a growing library of content focused on the topics that face homeowners associations on a regular basis, The Uncommon Area is quickly becoming the go-to source for industry-specific information. Interviews with leading voices on topics including leadership, technology, and legal aspects of HOAs, answer questions facing the many volunteers and management professionals who work to make these communities a place that can truly be called home.

Episode fifteen deals with the topic of electric vehicle charging. As the automotive industry shifts toward a growing focus on renewable energy, more associations will be faced with the complexities of installing electric vehicle charging stations. Traditionally, fueling cars has been a task that is outsourced to gas stations. Now, those fueling mechanisms are increasingly being attached to homes. In the case of high-rise condominiums, for example, the solution is not left up to each individual homeowner, but rather the association as a whole.

Episode twenty addresses the very challenging topic of when and how to legally remove a board member who is not acting according to their fiduciary duties.

Not every podcast deals with complex technical issues, however. The series premiere focuses on the crucial topic of how to best communicate with the residents of a community. Last summer Action’s CEO, Matthew Holbrook, sat down with regional managers Alex Esteves and Ryan Darby to explore how HOAs can overcome the adversarial stereotype and instead focus on supportive and encouraging communication strategies.
