Edenglen Halloween Happenings

halloweenedenglenHalloween is too exciting to celebrate just once, that’s why Edenglen residents were treated with two nights of festivities!

To kick-off the fun was an evening of pumpkin carving. On Friday, October 23rd, residents carved away on pumpkins that were generously donated by CF Landscaping. Those in attendance mingled with neighbors and munched on a pot-luck style snack bar during the fun. Before the nights end, all of the children signed their pumpkins up for the carving contest to be held the next day.

With the pumpkins carved, and the spider webs woven, it was time for the annual Edenglen Halloween Festival! Craft tables, bean bag toss, and a catered meal was just the beginning for the approximately 90 residents who joined in on the fun.

KML events did not disappoint with their spread of delicious food. The favorite table was the dessert bar, loaded with sweet treats and Halloween candy of course.

The highlight of the festival were all of the contests which included mummy wrapping, pumpkin carving, best costumes, and even a pet costume contest. The mummy wrapping contest was quite entertaining to watch!

The highlight for Jennifer Bennett, Edenglen Event Coordinator, was announcing that the winners of the costume and pumpkin carving contest were receiving $500 worth of prizes! Jennifer said that the prizes were kept as a surprise and the looks on the faces of the winning children and their parents were priceless!

Action’s donation allowed for such awesome prizes including, two bicycles, a ball pit, an amazing Lego set, an acoustic guitar, and a $50 Visa gift card. The last prize was a Petsmart gift card awarded to a black lab dressed as a spider! We are especially thankful for the additional sponsorships from Brookfield Residential and CF Landscape that provided for extras like the fun Halloween Banner!

Hosting events like the Halloween Festival is vital to create the sense of community that all residents should have. We are happy to have been a part of another successful Edenglen event.
